Private Property by Skye Warren

Private Property by Skye Warren is now live!

When I signed up for the nanny agency, I didn’t expect a remote mansion on a windswept isle. Or a brooding billionaire who resents his new role.

His brother’s death means he’s now in charge of a moody seven year old girl. She’s lashing out at the world, but I can handle her. I have to. I need the money to finish my college degree.

As long as I can avoid the boss who alternately mocks me and coaxes me to reveal my darkest secrets.

****My Review****

Some authors know how to surprise you – sometimes positively and sometimes negatively. Some authors manage to disappoint you at one point. But there are those who with each new story manage to delight you with their lavish talent and incredible imagination. This author is one of them. A real wizard with a pen, who once again managed to create a modern and dark story, with enough elements of the classical giant, which will make you turn the pages with great impatience …. Beware of the end, though. There is such a turn that will literally keep you awake long after you have finished the book … If I didn’t know that the second part is coming soon, I would have had such a tantrum…

A really famous tale as an inspiration for a modern author…. did it keep the greatness of the classic or did it became one more cliché …? To try to tackle such a literary gem, and to maintain the comfortable familiarity while adding enough freshness and uniqueness, is something that few authors can do. But that is no problem at all when that story is woven by this author. Her words and story-telling skills have once again managed to create a story with such a twisty plot, that will delight every reader with its mixture of romance and suspense.

The mere thought of having a resemblance to Jane Eyre was enough to make me take this book, but after only a few pages, I simply could not finish it. Neither sleep nor fatigue was important. With an incredible attraction that simply does not allow itself to be ignored, Rochester and Jane are a couple that will simply delight you.

As in the original story, our modern-day Jane finds herself in the mysterious and ominous Rochester household in Maine. The search for a better life brings her to the doorstep of this gloomy household and her role as a nanny to Mr. Rochester’s young orphaned niece. The need for finances made her accept the job, accept working for that cold and reclusive rich man, who hides under the veil of mystery and isolation. Her innocence and youth versus his dark sexiness – a combination that will definitely leave you sleepless. Specifics from the original tale such as dark sensuality and sinister melancholy, as well as the unique uncertainty are masterfully conveyed and balanced in this story. The intensity, as well as the mystery, are simply unbearable, while the characters are presented in a way that subtly resembles the original characters, and at the same time breathes new freshness and originality. The author’s signature is so obvious.

The author created an incredibly sexy and forbidden romance with enough mystery and passion to keep the readers hooked from beginning to end. Her extraordinary writing keeping you on the edge of your seat and the cliffhanger at the end will leave you sleepless long after you have finished the last line…… I am literally counting down the days till  Strict Confidence releases….
