I don’t want you.
You mean nothing to me.
I never loved you.

I turned my words into swords.
And I cut her down. Shoved the blade in and watched her fall.

I said I’d never hurt her, and I did.

Years later, I’m faced with all the little lies, the untruths, the false realities, the damage I inflicted, when all I wanted was to indulge my obsession.

Lavender Waters is the princess in the tower. Even her name is the thing fairy tales are made of.

I used to be the one who saved her.
Over and over again.

But I don’t want to save her anymore.
I just want to pretend the lies are still the truth.

A standalone angsty new adult romance.

Lavender Waters (Alex and Violet Waters’ youngest daughter, PUCKED and FOREVER PUCKED couple origin, Pucked Series )

Hero: Kodiak (Kody) Bowman (Rook and Lainey Bowman’s son, A LIE FOR A LIE couple origin, All In Series )

**** My Review ****

This book is true perfection in 333 pages! The heartbreaking and unforgettable love story of Lavender Waters and Kodiak Bowman will leave no reader indifferent.

Sometimes the one who saves you is the one who will destroy you. And the truth has many sides, right? The most horrible words can hide even the most beautiful love verses…

The story of Lavender Waters and Kodiak Bowman, about two pieces of the same whole, which were separated under the pressure of the environment. Former friends, soul mates, now sworn enemies… One step forward, two steps back … what will happen when the flames of the past come to life and awaken their hidden emotions? Will it warm their hearts or burn them completely in those gigantic flames of love and passion that neither time nor distance could destroy?

This story delighted me with its wonderful combination of love and hate. A truly emotional tale of two broken souls who try to push each other just to pull each other as close as possible. And what can I possibly say about the author? Luxurious and rich writing style with dazzling metaphors and comparisons. Every piece is so vividly described and flawlessly embedded in the whole story. I was also amazed by the range of events that upset and instilled negative feelings in the reader – especially the beginning. The author very skillfully leads us through the story, mixing her and his thoughts. Parts of the past and present that are perfectly intertwined, revealing piece by piece the overall emotional story. A complex story of an innocent love that survived despite an avalanche of attempts to be destroyed and extinguished. What is also fascinating is the way the author tackles quite serious topics, such as the abduction of minors, psychological disorders and conditions, and forces the reader to scratch deeper under this seemingly simple love story. Revenge and anger are portrayed as dark forces that dynamically guide the entangled action, all the way to the unforgettable climax and confrontation of the main characters, which is hot as hell. Lavender Waters is a girl who captivates with her kindness and determination. A girl who is torn between the wishes of her overprotective parents and her own wishes. A girl who manages to face her demons and spread her wings. Kodiak Bowman is an absolutely irresistible douchebag, who with his thoughts and actions will make you angry and laugh out loud. Possessive and protective, he is the perfect hero for our sassy heroine. And the chemistry, as well as the emotional connection between them, is off-charts. The supporting characters are very skillfully sculpted and thoroughly contribute to the perfection of the whole story.

Definitely, this is a book that captivates with its simple complexity. With beautiful descriptions, colorful characters, and events that will cause a storm of emotions in you, this book will leave you begging for at least one more page.
