A fake engagement seems like the perfect solution for struggling teacher Ava Matthews and scandal-ridden CEO Daniel Moretti in USA TODAY bestselling author Stefanie London’s fourth Close Quarters story!
I may be a barely employed, soon-to-be-homeless teacher/waitress, but that doesn’t mean I’ll marry any creep my mum brings around. Some guys like short and curvy! And I haven’t given up on the dream—the love of a man who makes me hotter than a Melbourne summer night.
Getting caught in a supply closet with CEO Daniel Moretti is the cherry on top of my day from hell…until the heat in his dark eyes makes me want to rip off my spaghetti-sauce-stained catering uniform. Daniel can’t risk more salacious rumors, so he proposes a deal—I agree to be his fake fiancée and he’ll help me get back on my feet.
Moving in to Daniel’s luxurious loft puts us in close quarters. And it’s not long before we’re saying yes all night long! But Daniel wants nothing to do with passionate love, and I won’t settle for anything less. Could a fake engagement lead to true love…or am I only fooling myself?
Take control. Feel the rush. Explore your fantasies—Harlequin DARE publishes sexy romances featuring powerful alpha males and bold, fearless heroines exploring their deepest fantasies.
**** My Review ****
Sometimes the most unpleasant situations and meetings can bring the greatest pleasure and treasure in our lives …
We meet Ava Matthews, a teacher who struggles to find work, pressured from all sides, with no obvious way out and solution …. We also meet the handsome Daniel Moretti, a man accused and sentenced without being given a chance to defend himself, convicted based on speculations and intrigues … and those two, in an attempt to escape the discomfort at least for a moment, find themselves in the same place at the same time … hidden from everything, and yet about to be discovered by everyone … one look, a few words and the solution to all their problems is here … the perfect solution for both of them, but what will happen when the feelings culminate, when the passion takes the helm of their lives and sails to something deeper? What will happen when the end of that farce comes, which looks more and more like truth, a truth that marks them both…
A sweet and interesting story that completely focuses on modern times, modern feelings, modern demons around us. A writer who is completely new to me, but who aims directly through thought, without the twists and turns of metaphors and piles of stylish figures. Easy to read and follow, this story is perfect for every romance reader, with an author who makes you think deeply and enjoy the lightness of the story at the same time. A story that very subtly intertwines topics that are not at all easy to read. The consequences of disharmonious family life, loneliness, the influence of the environment on human decisions are just some of the topics that will bring deeper thoughts. And the main characters are fantastic, Daniel Moretti- a man who always had the most beautiful girls and attended the most famous parties, drove the most expensive cars, powerful, rich and educated, only in love he remained illiterate. And Ava is a girl who is a perfect heroine, brave and courageous, vulnerable, yet strong enough to accept her feelings and fight for her happiness. While many authors insist that it is imperative to describe in the smallest detail the feelings, objects, characters, events, circumstances, places – this author proves that the reader can enjoy the course of her story without being overwhelmed with too many details.
And she is right. I enjoyed every part of this fun, modern, picturesque and romantic novel that reminds me of hope and serenity, a modern fairy tale that offers an escape succeeds for at least a few hours.
