WWW Wednesday

Hello everyone!

It’s time for WWW Wednesday again. So, what’s it about? This meme was formerly hosted by MizB at A Daily Rhythm and revived on Taking on a World of Words. Here are my answers to the three Ws!

What are you currently reading?

I am reading ‘Counterfeit Lover by J.C. Farmer at the moment. I just start reading it and the beginning is quite nice and compelling. Here’s the blurb.

Darrin Clark is an impoverished young man, madly in love with his long-time friend Janie. He is desperate for a job and any way to win Janie’s affections. Then a Hollywood studio promises to make him a movie star-if he will submit to a face-modifying procedure they are developing.

Darrin’s love overcomes his fear, and he allows the movie studio to alter his face. Soon his dreams come true. He is extraordinarily handsome, rich, and popular, full of the confidence he needs to earn Janie’s love. Yet, changing faces doesn’t seem enough, and the studio wants him to sacrifice more of his identity than just his appearance.

His plan to win Janie’s heart becomes more challenging when she unexpectedly joins the cast and changes her face, too. Now a gorgeous star, she’s pursued by prominent, powerful men, and beneath the glitz and glamour, Darrin finds himself in a world of death and deceit, where anyone can have any face.

Several of his friends are murdered by a mysterious killer who has his sights on Janie, and the ability to alter appearances seems to make the criminal invincible. Darrin must abandon his romantic pursuit of Janie, simply hoping to keep her alive.

The only way to outsmart the ruthless villain is to risk everything. How drastic a transformation is Darrin willing to make for love?

What did you recently finish reading?

I just finished ‘That Snowy Night by J.H Croix and I really loved it.

That Snowy Night is a light and sweet tale of two people who believed had nothing left, but few kisses that were engraved in their memories, only to discover they find everything in each other…. A fun, flirty second-chance romance that has a great Christmas vibe and will capture your attention till the very end.

What do you think you’ll read next?

Well, that’ s really hard one. So many books, so little time. My TBR is let’s say bottomless, but I believe that my next read will be Southern Sass and a Battered Bride by Kate Young

Here’s the blurb

At a murder mystery-themed wedding reception on Georgia’s picturesque Peach Cove Island, the bride is doing an awfully good job playing dead…

Marygene Brown always figured she’d marry her childhood sweetheart, Alex Myers, not cater his wedding. But the Peach Diner could use the exposure. Most of the island is showing up–although more for the role-playing murder game at the reception than for the widely loathed bridezilla, Lucy Carmichael. Marygene may have to smile through the festivities, but Mama doesn’t have to hold her peace–especially since only Marygene can hear her mother’s ghost. Mama says she sees an aura of darkness around the wedding.

So when Marygene finds Lucy lying beside the wedding cake, buried in batter, with no pulse, it looks like Mama called it. This is no game. And when the bride’s body simply vanishes, it’s up to Marygene and her best friend Betsy (cousin to the groom and no fan of the bride) to solve a real-life mystery–with a little help from Mama’s sassy spirit…
