I’m safe in the ivory tower Gabriel Miller made for me. That’s what he says. Enemies lurk outside, waiting to strike. An army of enemies held back by these walls.
Except some animal instinct warns me the danger is much closer. It’s already here. Is Gabriel Miller my protector or my enemy? Is this house a castle or a cage?
There’s nowhere for me to go, no one left for me to trust.
No escape from a past determined to capture its prize.
**** My Review ****
Once all the masks fall and all the secrets are revealed, the pain might be great, the heart might bleed…..when all the truths are said with loud and clear words, only then does the story begin.
After twisting our world with The Pawn and The Knight, Skye Warren gives us the conclusion of Gabriel and Avery’s story and has managed to make it even more riveting and captivating- the story continues, the predator and the prey, the dark knight and the gentle princess…a king and a queen now.
The author masterfully intertwines parts of Greek mythology, chess strategies, sizzling chemistry and a twisting dark tale which nailed me to the pages even before the story began. I literally couldn’t put it down till the very end, and even then I wanted it to continue.
The King tries to protect his Queen…the emotions are out in the clear and so overwhelming, both of them bared, hidden meanings in the chess games and steamy encounters that simply burn the pages….and only one conclusion: The King is nothing without his Queen.
Sky is a master storyteller and once again created a dark mystery, that was disturbing, and yet so emotional and sexy. The characters are so familiar and yet their further development is mesmerizing. The naïve girl we met in The Pawn rose to become a brave and strong woman, fighting darkness to reach light. And Gabriel ….dark and dangerous, yet so irresistible. The dark hero, with all his harsh exterior showed an emotional side that literally made me swoon and drool. The side characters were well presented and intertwined in the whole story that they managed to add to the appeal, while sparking interest in their own stories.
And the writing style…absolute perfection, each piece skilfully balanced as to serve a certain purpose, showing and hiding the curve balls which I honestly never saw coming.
If you’re looking for a book that has the ability to completely pull you into its dark world, filled with unexpected twists and turns, a book worth a sleepless night or two, then you should definitely read the End Game Trilogy, you won’t regret it.
