October 2020 Wrap Up

Hello my dears, how are you today? I hope you are all well, safe and sound and that it is not difficult for you to deal with this tough situation for all of us.

I do not know about you, but for me, walking in nature and reading are my outlet for helping me cope with the stress and hardships that this terrible pandemic has brought. And I especially love autumn, a time when the leaves change color and fall, the air gets colder and I get an extra will and time to snuggle in bed and read. October was a great month to read, I managed to read 17 books, and ease the tension off my ever-growing TBR … it seems to me that it is bottomless.

And I really love October, it is the month when two of the most important people in my life were born – my mother and my daughter. It’s a pity that this year we could not organize a perfect birthday party for my little one, but we still had a good time celebrating at home.

Now let’s go back to the books I’ve devoured this months.

  1. All In by Erica Marselas

I have to say that this is my first book by Erica Marselas, but certainly won’t be the last. I finished the book in one sitting, and I really want to write so many things, yet I cannot find the right words. Captivating, all-consuming, insanely hot and way unpredictable…a stunning story that left me speechless and wanting for more.

Liam was the perfect hero, burdened by his own demons, broken in some ways, the dark knight, wicked and attractive at the same time, with a heart bigger than his ego and with enough love and courage to be able to match the most famous heroes of world fiction. He on the abyss, and she his hand for salvation. Read more

2. Happily Letter After by Vi Keeland and Penelope Ward

There is a reason why Vi Keeland is one of the most popular authors in recent times. Combine that with the art of the master storyteller Penelope Ward, and it is a fact that readers will be knocked off their knees.  No wonder that the combination of their gifts one more time resulted into a real page-turner of the first order. 3. Wounded Kiss by Willow Winters

After my obsession with the ‘Twilight’ series over a decade ago, I believed I was done with this genre for good. And coming from Willow Winters, this type of book, was a real surprise to me. But since she has a permanent place on my ‘WHATEVER THIS AUTHOR WRITES, I’LL READ’ list, I had to give it a chance. And believe me, that NEVER…ever would I have believed that I’d be hooked the minute I picked this book up…Hypnotic…Spellbinding…Literally, I couldn’t quit until I finished it! Read more

4. The Italian Obsession by N.J Adel

This is my first book from this extremely talented author, and I can honestly say she is on her way to gain a permanent place on my ‘Not Reading on School Night’ list, since she left me sleep-deprived and groggy this morning, good thing I wasn’t in my classroom, and definitely N.J Adel is one of the rare authors that can make me joyful and extremely pleased while reading a dark, repulsive, psycho-stalker romance, that kept me on the edge of my seat until the very end. It’s weird to admit how much I enjoyed this disturbing story. Read more

5. Man in Charge by Laurelin Paige

Argh!!!! That ending….Holy Smokes, really???? Laurelin Paige, you are one hell of a dirty player!!! How can you leave me waiting till November? I’m pretty sure I literally screamed in frustration when I got to the end of this book. The first thing I did after devouring the book in one sitting was to check how many days until the release of the next installment. It’s going to be a real torture!!!! Read more

6. Repent by Cassanda Robbins

Gritty and raw to the point of perfection, with the irresistible chemistry and a dash of enemies/friends to lovers touch…..and next you realize you have been left sleepless and totally groggy the next morning, still unable to find the perfect word to do this book justice.

Cassandra gives us the whole Dolly and Edge’s story, everything – the full background, the history, the bone deep love and care and sweetness that exists in this romance …

Sweet, funny and quite sexy ‘Easy to Lose’ is one great example of second-chance romance that will most definitely take the readers on a real roller coaster of emotions.

14.Deal Breakers by Laura Lee

Deal Breakers is a really sweet friends-to-lovers romance that also includes second opportunity and secret baby elements. Everything is so cute, funny and charming, without too much drama or angst, which I personally would like more.

One look at her, and pure desire overwhelms him, the feelings are there, the lust ignites…but they somehow end up in the friends zone, which with the passing of time becomes too familiar, too comfortable and too much needed in order to be jeopardized. But one night, one touch…all limits and rules are forgotten… Read more

17. Notorious by Minerva Spencer

Minerva Spencer with her new novel  ‘Notorious’ will lead you in the past, where one sassy wallflower lands the handsome rogue in one bittersweet romance that is certainly a very interesting beginning to what promises to be great series.

This tale is about a marriage of convenience, which is definitely often used in historical romance books, but the plot and definitely the characters are quite appealing and make this book unique in its own way…
